Aboriginal Law Series
Aboriginal Law 101

September 29, 2015

Aboriginal Law 101 offers an introduction to the basics of Aboriginal rights, Aboriginal title, and treaty rights. What are these rights and how are they proven? It will introduce the elements of the duty of consultation and accommodation, identify when the duty is triggered and who owes the duty. A basic foundation in Aboriginal law is provided for lawyers who want to gain a better understanding of the area and sets the stage for the more in-depth topics that follow in the series.
